About

Welcome to the UNSW Bike Club blog! On this blog there will be posts of activities that are coming up. Also, I’m trying something new with blogs - there is a page for each area of interest to the bike club, such as social rides, or where to buy a second hand bike. Please look at the pages that interest you and leave your detailed comments. I’m hoping that people can use this blog to communicate, instead of everyone on the mailing list receiving emails about everything that’s going on. I also want to see people organising out of it, because nothing will get done without lots of active members. For the moment, leaving your comments will be a very good way for people to see who is interested in what.

If you have ideas/comments/anything that are not related to any of the pages in particular, then leave them at the bottom of this page. These might be about meetings/bike breakfasts/new members trying to join/fundraising - whatever.

    Hello,

I noticed the UNSW BIKE CLUB used a photo from my site (the guy with the giant wrench photo). This is copyrighted material. If you are going to steal my art and photos to use, you should at least ask and then credit them with “art/photo by http://www.robotmonkeylab.com“. I’d appreciate that. If you could do that, then go ahead and use whatever you’d like to.

    Thank you,
    Patrick

But then it wouldn’t really be stealing, would it :)
Anyway, we finally have a workshop of our own now, so we have a photo of our own as well. Thanks for the use of the image and the offer to use it in future!
    Maurice

I reckon the comment was justified; we should give credit where credit’s due. Anyway, the guy didn’t say we couldn’t use the photo, he just asked that we reference it properly.

Also, check out the films Robot Monkey Lab are working on - they look fantastic! Anyone want to hire a copy of “Inbred Redneck Alien Abduction” for the next bike club meeting?

I have a large collection of “Push On” which became “Australian Cyclist” magazines from March 1988 to March 1999. If these could be of any use to anyone please contact me at: faybriggs@bigpond.com

Silly question, but how do you join this club (I haven’t been very active on the club scene at unsw, but this one sounds interesting). This site is great! I’d just love the basic info though, how do you join? what events do you guys do?

    Thanks guys, keep it up!

  8. Chris Says:

    Hey Em,

To join, just rock up to a bike club workshop (every Wednesday from 1pm-3pm on the Quadrangle Lawn at uni).
